As mentioned in a post last year, my family x 2 aunts x 2 uncles had planned to travel to Taipei together. We did and although throughout the trip there's on-off arguments, we really enjoyed ourselves! We had our breakfast as we did not order anything in the flight...
Right, I did a terrible mistake this time around and saw the timing to arrive at the boarding gate wrongly. I thought we could reach boarding gate 10 minutes before 7.10am (departure time) and made everyone rush over... However they were all really understanding and I had to help mama finish her bottle of water before heading in. I even unzip my shoes for them to check, in the end I passed without them checking... Don't cha think I'm a good citizen? Hehehehe...
This time round, I managed to catch a wink for few moments before we arrived Taoyuan International Airport after 4 hours plus of flight. I guess I really love the view from inside the plane as I love how the sky could be so blue and bright with the best weather for us to enjoy the flight throughout.
Yay, we reached the airport on time safely!
Before we passed through the Taiwan airport custom, I rushed to the Chunghwa telecom to get the Taiwan Sim card! Well it cost NT$500 (SGD $20+) for 10 days worth of data and NT$100 for calls. Then as we headed to the custom, it was so crowded and gosh, we needed to use two index fingers to get through. It was so troublesome as not many could clear instantly...
Our hostel's driver came and got us from the airport once we were done... That was finally when we could start our holiday!
So we came to our hostel (
http://foxhousehostel.com/) and Room A and Room C were the 2 rooms that I had booked from Fiona (the host). Honestly speaking, the rooms were so good and spacious for 3-4 people.
There is also an entrance balcony!
This is Room A and basically what you see here is almost the same as the one in Room C. However Room A is more spacious and even has a place to dry the laundry and store luggage!
Next is Room C which my mum, my aunts and I stayed in.
I like it when the television is a big screen! At least won't have to struggle with watching the show!
A spacious shower area in which we were provided with the necessities! It's clean as well!
After resting, we headed out and here's the environment near to where we stayed!
Then we had some intestine soup and meatball soups plus sticky and oily rice which I forgotten where the photo I took.
It's only a 5 minutes walk from Foxhouse to the metro station! So wherever we went, we definitely saved a lot! We were heading to Longshansi Temple as we all agreed to a simple tour for first day!
As I was standing near to the 2nd entrance of the temple, I could only split up the length of the temple in 2 photos. It's a well-known temple and it's really huge okay! From there, we proceeded to the Mengjia/Hwahsi Tourist Night Market. Heard that there's snake soup and I recommended to them even though I myself, wouldn't dare to drink them. Hahahah.
Next, we had no idea where we should go so I brought them all to Ximending (Station: Ximen). Well, from there I started to have problems with them and now I regretted for my attitudes...
I guess I'd return back there as there're many things I had not tried and guess I need to wait till I travel to Taiwan again so they are all in my bucket list already!
Before we headed back, they all had Ah Zong Mian Xian while I didn't as I was having bad attitude day... So yeah, then I bought back 2 big bottles of Vitagen to Foxhouse. It was really worth it!!!
Alright, please wait for my update on Day 2 and I know it took me awhile to type out this post! See ya next time!
