As my birthday celebration finished at 1 am, D. and I went to the airport to do an early self-check in which was why our tickets were in black and white print. By right, we were supposed to check in only at 5 am but luckily, we were able to do so at 2.15 am plus we didn't have to do any check in for our baggage too! Thus, we could go through the departure hall. Our departing flight was at 7.15 am so we had to walk around the DFS shops and had some food before settling at one area where we could charge our phone and watch tv since we couldn't sleep.
We were looking through the window for other planes and at that time, it was raining heavily which we prayed hard that it won't rain when our plane departed. Yeah thankfully, it didn't rain.
Finally the time where we could get to the Land Of Smiles in 2 hours time!
A mandatory welfie in the plane before the plane departed. (I'm really grateful to have him with me.)
I always love taking photo when the plane took to the air midway. Picturing the good views in my mind will never be enough for me to remember where and when I fly to certain countries so which those pictures, I could remember these details.
When we reached Suvarnabhumi Airport (I love the airport... Oh wait, who doesn't love new airport?!), we didn't have to rush to get our baggage as we were only taking our own bag pack. We went to gate 7 for our Tourist data card after we left the arrival hall which was really important for us since we might need to contact each other in case we got lost from each other. The data card cost only 299 bahts (~12 SGD) and there's unlimited data capped at 1.5 GB which was definitely enough for me. The card also allows us to give a call to other countries provided we know the country code with allowance of 100 bahts.
After getting the data card, we went to the Airport Rail Link to take a train to Phaya Thai to change to BTS. This was my first time taking the Airport Rail Link and I thought it was really cool to use the token like how we use our Ez-Link card. Just take the token and tap on to the reader.
We waited awhile for the train to arrive and to our surprise, their seats were super comfortable and I have been telling to many people that I always love taking trains in other countries more than my own country due to the speed. Yeah, there's no exceptional for Thailand trains too!
Using B612 mobile app to capture all these photos. I love how we could see all those different kinds of housing conditions in the train that day instead of the usual way of taking taxt from the airport.
We're so not sorry for being tired after the celebration and from the flight. Well, I guessed we were actually. Hahaha, just call us mad or insane if you must (but I was really grateful for this trip).
Hahaha, he just loves to do funny faces whenever we try to take photos. (That's what I love about him...)
As we reached Phaya Thai station which was the last stop from the airport, we were confused since it wasn't direct link to the BTS unlike how our MRT lines are linked to different colours of lines. Thankfully, I managed to get help from a staff from the station and got the direction to get to BTS. However we gotta queue to get another ticket to Mo Chit station (which Chatuchak Park / Market is located). It cost 34 bahts (SGD1.36) to get there.
While the Airport Railway Link was using token, BTS was the typical card you would use last time in Singapore.
D was looking for his shade but in the end we couldn't find it, which was bad... But then, we found this! The must-eat Coconut Ice-cream at 35 bahts (SGD 1.40) in Chatuchak if you ever travel to Bangkok! I'd love to have this again.
The moment I saw many people queuing up when D was shopping, my eyes were fixed on them till I got it. Hahahah!
You could add some toppings or maybe like D, he didn't want any toppings and they still tasted good!
Then we had Cha Yen (Thai Iced Tea) at this particular store while trying to find a way out since we were going to die from the tiredness and couldn't take it already...
After we ate some thing, we took a cab to our hotel to check in. As usual, I booked Citin Pratunam since I was satisfied with their room cleanliness and room rate. We bought Basil Rice with Chicken and Egg back to the room since we hadn't have proper meals yet (I didn't take this initially so this was cropped from my other post). Thankfully it wasn't spicy until the usual I had before so it was really nice and D. was enjoying it while watching TV. Hahahah.
We rested for 2 hours before we finally set off for our dinner at Chinatown. Yes, this couple outfits were bought in Chatuchak Market in case you're wondering since they were cheap like 170 bahts (SGD 6.80) for two. I didn't bring along any shorts from home so I purchased this polka dot rayon pants from there too, for about 79 bahts (SGD 3.19) I think, I can't remember...
We wanted to take tuktuk to Chinatown and this time, I was quite unlucky since the other 3 trips I didn't chance upon those drivers who needed to get free fuel for their tuktuk from some shop owners. Yes, I mean this time I just had to encounter such incident. However, this tuktuk driver told us to stay in the shop for 5, 10 minutes whether we wanted to buy or not. (No one wanted to make a damn suit at that time... If he brought us to jewellery shop, maybe I might consider to buy 1 set of it right? Arrgh..!) Well yeah, so we didn't get anything and left with the same tuktuk driver. Hahahah.
There we were at T&K Seafood for our tze char! I never failed not to return for those seafood since their food was really delicious. (But of course I must say their standards had dropped...)
We ordered a plate of fried pineapple rice, oyster omelette, shark fins soup and fried prawn(not shown in the picture). I must say out of all the four dishes, I loved this oyster omelette as the oysters were fat and juicy. The soup tasted more like a thick broth unlike my previous trip with Joey which was not so watery either. The rest was alright...
We went to Lin Zhen Xiang (林真香) for some goodies to be brought back for our friends or family. After that, we had to go to Watson for some of our necessities but D. didn't manage to find any while I got myself a sunscreen lotion due to hot weather there and cleansing lotion for make up remover. Then we took a cab back to our hotel.
Since the taxi driver didn't know where our hotel was situated so he stopped outside Palladium World thinking that was where we said it was... But still, we managed to get some of the things shown in the next pictures and we got our coffee from Tom N Toms Coffees. Pardoned our madness for coffees, no wait... D's needs for coffees are stronger than me, hahaha.
D. told me he didn't want to travel far just for massage so we went to Blue Spa & Massage near to our hotel and somebody wasn't feeling shiok since his masseur didn't put much pressure on him. Well my masseur was good and I of course, was satisfied.
Overall, we didn't get much things from Chatuchak Market except for the sling bags since it was a dreadful day for us and we were dragging ourselves with our bag packs along the road. The 2 luggages were bought along the street of pratunam market which was just nice. We managed to get the clothes outside the Palladium world and my cream + cleansing lotion were from Chinatown Watson.
Hold up till all the posts were done okay, I haven't got any time to do much blogging but still wait for me to finish posting them! Thank you for your time too! See ya!
