That's right. Here I am heading off to Taiwan again... AND IT'S TONIGHT! This time round, I'm going with Jueyi! It started as a solo trip and slowly it became duo trip. Well, the discussion was started at the beginning of the year so he wasn't involved at all. I guess it's fated right? I'm going to Taiwan for him too, I guess. Hahaha...

Last year, I took Jetstar to Taiwan and now I am going to take back Scoot again. Well, I like taking budget airline since it is cheap and affordable. Yes the service may not be as grand as what you expect... But who the heck chooses high end airline for 4 hours flight? Okay maybe for those who can afford expensive flights yeah. Jueyi and I got to be at airport as early as 9.55pm (21:55) for checking in.

So for the flight, we each paid $326.17. It may seem like an unreasonable price, I have tried removing one person's baggage for departure and added two baggages for arrival. Well for the arrival, we paid nothing for our meals. So I guess it's sort of give and take. I kinda think it is alright for such amount.


Jueyi was in-charge of booking the accommodation. She has stayed in this hotel during her solo June Trip, so I'm just following her lead and will see how it goes when I reach Taiwan later (Arrghh I can't wait now)! So each of us paid $200++, I can't remember the exact amount.


Then we even considered about getting the prepaid Tourist Card for Taiwan from Changi Recommends but the package is not as good as the one given from Taiwan telcom. In this case, here are the examples.

This costs SGD 19 (~NTD 418) and from the card you can tell that it includes 3GB high speed data for data but voice calling is not included thus, it is considered pretty costly.



In comparison with Taiwan Mobile for 7 days, from Choice C, it's 7 Days Unlimited Data and NTD 150 for voice calling. It only costs NTD 500 (~SGD 22). Let say we excluded the calling, it's NTD 350 for Unlimited Data. Isn't it much more worth? Well, it is more of a convenience in some's reference, I guess.


So we have not spent on the sim card yet. We are purchasing the plan from Taiwan Mobile!

Next up, is the airport transfer from the hotel. Jueyi and I were thinking if we should take a taxi to the airport. But the price is too big and we two don't want to spend so much. It would cost us a minimum NTD 900 (~SGD 40, SGD 20+ each) for the journey from the hotel to the airport.

So why not we consider options like the one from Changi Recommends? They do provide such 'order' service for us! Check out at ChangiRecommends: Overseas Airport Transfer . So each of us only paid SGD 18. Isn't it much cheaper and you can save more to spend more?!


The total cost spent before the trip is est. SGD 550. I have changed a total of SGD 550 which the exchange rate is now SGD 1 : NTD 22. So hurry for those who wants to change the money! With the school holidays coming up, the rate is bound to decline!
