Reluctant feelings of going home had to be built on after I woke up and yeah, we woke up late again missing the morning market which we could have bought more clothes... Oh well. This day I planned on trying a mission with D. which was to eat 20 bowls of boat noodles (Kway Tiew Rua) for 1 pepsi/coke free. We safeguarded our luggages with the hotel staffs! Then, from the car you'll see that I was trying to take a photo but it turned out blurred. The next 2 will show that we were at Victory Monument if you're familiar there!
When we arrived the place, we were greeted with a strong smell from the canal/river as we walked... Oh well, I was worried that the place would not be cleaned but still I overcame it and we arrived the place! I saw someone recommending this place and the staffs were dressed in orange uniform.
Luckily we got our seats when we went and heres the side order if you don't want to eat only the noodles.
We ordered 20 bowls of the noodles (10 bowls of pork noodles, 10 bowls of beef noodles) and get this pepsi free! However the taste of this pepsi was weird so we only drank more than half and stopped since we were full too (which stated cola there...).
Here's our 10 bowls of beefs! Yum yum! (:
The white bowls was the pork and D. and I managed to finish 10 bowls each. 20 bowls could mean 3 bowls of fish ball noodles in Singapore... Anyways, this is to warn you all first before you decide to try this. If you're afraid of half cooked food such as bloody liver, you may want to consider this first because one of the main ingredient in the broth of this boat noodles is either cow's blood or pork's blood. However the taste will not be noticeable and the soup will have sour taste too!
After finishing all, our bill was 240 bahts for the noodles (12 bahts each ~ SGD 0.50). So we walked around the area and there's mini "pasar malam". I managed to get some clothes! Okay, we took a cab to Union Mall next. It was our instant favourite shopping place! So yes, while shopping we came upon for this which I've seen on Facebook: Stir-Fried Ice Cream!
We're able to choose 1 flavor + 2 mixers + 1 topping for only 69 bahts (~SGD 2.76). I chose Yoghurt while he chose Rum n' Raisins + Oreo Mixers and finally the topping I chose Chocolate Syrup!
Here's a short instavid of how the staff did for our ice cream!
Tada! I know it's melted but really, I love this so much! I regret not having it earlier on!!!
Due to time constraint, we rushed our shopping and we went for our early dinner! While resting, here's a quick look at our last day of loots! I swear I was nut, buying stuffs that I thought I may not wear or even bother when I got back to Singapore...
Our daily needs: Coffee.
We were searching high and low for the monster curry rice on our Day 2 but we couldn't find it then we realised it's UCC coffee the one who had it. Hahaha, it was delicious but it wasn't really monster curry la!
We walked a few more rounds till D. finally realised it's time to leave the place and head back to the lobby before we miss our flight. On the way to Suvarnabhumi Airport, D. was already dozing off... Cute baby! While I looked out for the roads so that this driver's honest enough not to bring us a round before going on the right road. We were charged for 400 bahts (~SGD 16) inclusive of the highway tolls and other charges so I thought it was reasonable since the distance was long..
Once we reached the airport, we got to check in our luggages and check in to the departure hall already. So yeah, if you have seen the new security machine which requires you to raise your hands and spread your bare-footed legs... I told D. if we're lucky enough and got that, he'll be amazed. True enough, we got that and had to follow it as instructed for 1 minute. Hahahah, so fun though x: Then nearer to our gate, we had our dinner again at Mango Tree since we're gonna miss Thai food!
On the plane already...
Yes, I'm going to miss this Land of Smiles and I really can't deny why they say it's Land of Smiles already. With their friendly gestures while smiling widely to help us generously, we were able to find the proper way. I miss the food, I miss living like the locals, I miss squeezing the crowds and they don't even complain even when they're stucked halfway. I want to travel with D. again, no matter where.
