It was a day where all of us deserved a break. Be it a student, a teacher or even a normal human like me. On a day like this, we had decided to celebrate Mother's Day in advance so my cousin and uncle had booked a reservation for a dinner @ Jumbo Seafood Restaurant (Located at 1206 East Coast Parkway, #01-07/08, 449883). We rarely dined out except for special occasions, well yes this was a special occasion especially for all mothers in the world. So we gathered together and brought grandmother along to enjoy.
We reached early at the place so we had to stand under the rain. It's a good thing the adults always remembered to bring along umbrellas. My cousins and I could only remember to take welfies hehehe. Yes I'm the oldest among all and yet, I'm the shortest. I'm the one to be blamed since I really hated playing sports in the past and I don't exercise much (or maybe all the times)... Oh well, they only asked why am I so white? The thing is I don't feel like I'm that fair, I thought all along I was tanned and it's not looking good on me and I hated it so much! (Oh well, Weixuan's family was not there yet so Weixuan didn't take the photo with us at that time.)
Then we were seated at our tables by 7pm which was the timing we reserved and due to having some dishes that the gravy might spill or drip on us or our clothes, they gave us this apron. I thought it was really a good idea to do^^.
After ordering drinks and waiting for quite time, this starter dish came! They named this 'Jumbo Exquisite Petite Four Platter'. (1. Chilled Mango & Shredded Roast Duck Salad, 2. Sauteed Cod Fish with Spicy Sauce, 3. Chilled Marinated Sea Whelk with Jelly Fish, 4. Deep Fried Seafood Bean-curd Roll). I wouldn't say that they didn't taste as good as they're named but of course there's one I'd love to have it again and that's no. 4! (Until now, I still can't forget the taste and the way it melted in my mouth...)
Next dish was 'Braised Superior Shark's Fin Soup in Claypot'! As much as I love to add pepper and vinegar into this soup, I would say adding a huge amount of pepper would be just good enough! This was one of the best shark's fin soup I've ever had. Thumbs up!
Okay, at first we thought this was it. The gravy was nice and somehow it tasted like the Kung Pao gravy. The dish that contained fish so we tucked in and all we ate was just bones and remaining of a fish...
It turned out to be really bones and remained of the fish... and yes, we had another dish coming in together and it's called 'Live Long Hu Garoupa' and we're served the dish in two different ways. That's why we found it odd initially, hehehe! I didn't like the muddy taste from the fish so I ate the vermicelli and ohmy is the taste so good! (Even though I forgot about the taste, I could remember that I liked the vermicelli a lot. Hahahaha.)
Then we had this 'Braised Abalones with Seafood'. Right, my favourite veggies since young! Broccoli with mushrooms and the sauce were a good combination as usual. There's no way I'd hate this dish, totally flawless (:
This! 'Live Lobster Steamed in Minced Garlic' was another dish I'd give it a miss due to the muddy taste again ): I was disappointed on the head part and I didn't manage to have the bottom part of the lobster so I was not sure the difference in the taste...
We gave up on this fried rice 'Supreme Seafood Fried Rice in X.O. Sauce' as we were almost filled up to the brim so this was being taken away after we've finished everything else... However I took a few spoonfuls of this and it was not that bad even though it's cold.
Hehehe, the dish that got all our hands dirty! 'JUMBO Award-winning Chili Crab' gravy was good to go along with the Fried Man Tou (Fried Mini Buns) and the crab meat was so much better compared to the lobsters earlier on! Fresh and juicy! Yums yums ^.^
Last but not least, this was my favourite of the day! 'Sweet Yam Paste with Corn & Ginkgo Nuts' has always been my favourite since I attended someone's wedding when I tagged along with my family. I liked how the Corn syrup would help to go along with the Yam Paste and it was not watery! It was not too sweet for me as well (:
Due to eating too much, we had a walk near the coast and oh yeah, here's our group photo once again but with Weixuan this time round! He's too busy ever since he got enlisted to NS and we rarely see each other at grandmother's house already ): Well anyway, I'd say overall this restaurant's worth trying and definitely so much better than (used-to-be-highly-raved) L.B. Restaurant I guess. The total cost was $2k plus for 2 tables of 20 pax charge after discount. (:

"Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers in the world. Wishing all Mothers blessed with great health! Here's a photo of me holding my grandma's hand. It's a very significant photo and nothing can beat the feeling of holding her almost bony hands as it makes me feel like it has been a long time since I held her and this is how much she has aged. My parents will eventually follow and grow old, so am I. I wish we would enjoy immortality but nah, I'd prefer to enjoy every moment of our life now. Cherish our love ones and don't wait till it's too late. Happy Mother's Day, yet any day could be Parent's day!
I'd like to add on that no matter how much I've hurt them, it hurts me as much too. I just needed more time to manage and control myself, which I wish everyone would give me that chance to do so. That's all I ever ask for or need."
